Biography

Born and raised in Roblin Manitoba, I retired from the RCMP after 24 years of service in Manitoba, Quebec, Saskatchewan, The Northwest Territories and Nunavut (I joined when I was 3, for those doing the math). I was widowed in 1996 when my wife Janice lost her battle against Ovarian Cancer.

After moving to Arctic Bay in 1999 I met my wife Leah here. We married in August 2001 and we adopted Travis in 2002 and Hilary in 2006. We built and ran the Kiggavik Bed and Breakfast and began operations in April of 2006. Then we lost it all to our mortgagor in November of 2009. I'm now the Community Economic Development Officer for Arctic Bay.

I'm also one of the two Godfathers of Nunavut Blogging, and have the longest running blog in Nunavut. I have been known to spend a bit of time with a camera in my hand and spend a great deal of time keeping track of the bird life up here in the High Arctic.
