I've not often had supper plans collapse in such a big way. The Canadian Coast Guard Ship Terry Fox steamed into Arctic Bay yesterday morning. (I'm not sure so many pictures I've taken with Leah's camera lately have turned out blurry)
The current captain of the Terry Fox, Stewart Klebert, is a friend of ours and I look forward to seeing him each season, so when I saw the Terry Fox coming into the bay I waited until they had dropped anchor and hailed them on the radio. After lunch he dropped by the House and agreed to stay for supper. We had a good visit and I was just about to start for supper when he got an urgent call and within the hour the Terry Fox was heading out of the bay, sailing towards a great expanse of ice to assist another CCG ship, working north west of here.
Ah well, next year I guess.
